Balance Booster testing
Test fixture
- The test fixture uses pins to connect to the 'B+', 'B-' and 'C' pads of the UUT
- It connects the 'C' pad to the 'B+' pad
- It has 2 wires, a red one to the 'B+' pad and a black one to the 'B-' pad
Test set-up
- Get a lab power supply with adjustable voltage and current limit, and capable of supplying 3.5 V and 3 A.
- Adjust the supply for 3.50 Vdc - at the fixture and under load from a UUT (not at the supply, and not without a UUT)
- Connect the test fixture to the lab power supply, respecting polarity
- If the lab supply does not have a current meter, use a DVM in the 10 Adc range in series, between the supply and the fixture.
Test procedure
- Place UUT on test fixture
- Note that the initial supply current is between 2.00 and 2.50 A
- Remove UUT
